A moment at the coffee shop

So here I am at the 'Bucks on campus. I find myself enveloped in the five or so conversations going on around me - I love it. There's the guy and girl casually talking politics (sounds like it's something to do with McCain & Obama...something about the bailout, too - I am amazed and saddened by people's ignorance and false assumptions based on what they heard for a second on the news)

And there's the coffee klatch of seven girls and one guy (it was funny watching them arrive gradually, waving and smiling at each other as they open the front door).

There's the fraternity group sitting down the the T-Shirt guy to try and hammer out the details of their Greek garb... $4 a shirt doesn't sound bad!

And I can't figure out what the two girls next to me are talking about...but I hear sound and syllables coming from their lips.

Political couple just left, and another group took its place.

Today is a beautiful, crisp, sunny day; I have 3 simple classes with breaks in between; I'm playing racquetball with a friend after classes this afternoon ? why didn't I like school this much when I went through it the first time??

I almost cannot fathom that for the next 9 months I am going to be doing this on a daily basis - I enjoy it so much...the reading, the learning, practicing my instruments, playing in ensembles (a nearly-full orchestra, and a hundred-member band), taking sports/phys-ed classes (classes for FUN and not for a major? Oh rapture!).

I'm glad I made the decision to come back, and I'm glad God has provided the resources and skills to do it. Time to head to the MIDI lab.
